There will be two live performances at this year’s Academy Awards ceremony,\u00a0Deadline<\/a><\/em>reports.<\/p>\n

The first performance\u2014which honors the smash-hit animated film\u00a0K-Pop Demon Hunters<\/em>\u2014will bring\u00a0Ejae<\/span>,\u00a0Audrey Nuna\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0Rei Ami<\/span>\u00a0on stage to perform their Grammy-winning hit “Golden”.<\/p>\n

The second performance\u2014in honor of\u00a0Ryan Coogler’s\u00a0<\/span>Sinners<\/em>\u00a0becoming the most-nominated film ever at the Oscars\u2014will see actor\u00a0Miles Caton<\/span>\u00a0perform the film’s original song “I Lied To You”. He will be joined by several other musicians, including country hip-hop pioneer\u00a0Shaboozey<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The ‘Sinners’ Ensemble Features Some Big Names<\/h2>\n

The Oscars have pulled some truly impressive names together to pay homage to\u00a0Sinners<\/em>‘ historic accomplishment; Shaboozey may be the most recognizable, but he’s in some very impressive company.<\/p>\n

Joining him are\u00a0Brittany Howard<\/span>\u00a0of Alabama Shakes, blues guitarists\u00a0Eric Gales\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0Christone Ingram<\/span>, veteran producer\u00a0Bobby Rush<\/span>, and R&B singer-songwriter\u00a0Alice Smith<\/span>. Caton will also be joined by his\u00a0Sinners<\/em>\u00a0co-stars\u00a0Buddy Guy<\/span>,\u00a0Jayme Lawson<\/span>, and\u00a0Li Jun Li<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The performance is set to be a true celebration of blues, R&B, and country music through the generations, exploring how Black culture has influenced music over the past century.<\/p>\n

When “I Lied To You” plays in\u00a0Sinners<\/em>, it’s accompanied by a dynamic montage of how music and artistic expression has evolved throughout the years, particularly through the lens of Black culture in America. The live-performance will seemingly deal with the same idea, bringing all these icons from different periods and genres together.<\/p>\n

Sinners<\/em>\u00a0racked up a record-breaking sixteen nominations at this year’s Oscars, beating the record of fourteen that was previously held by\u00a0All About Eve, Titanic,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0La La Land<\/em>. This included the Academy’s newest category, Best Casting.<\/p>\n

The 98th Academy Awards will take place on Sunday, March 15 at 7 p.m. ET. The ceremony will be available to watch for free on ABC or through Hulu with a relevant subscription.<\/p>\n
